Alexander's fifteen properties of living structure, Bejan's flow configurations, Ostrom's commons principles, Jane Jacobs's urban dynamics and the ecological-resilience literature are overlapping empirical regularities: signatures of configurations that persist. Beauty and animism then follow as consequences of these patterns rather than needing independent metaphysical defence.
