Unified critique

The political-economic critique and the perceptual-metaphysical critique are two sides of one configurational failure, joined structurally rather than rhetorically.

This is James's own unifying claim, and it is more specific than thread-under-the-threads, the threads document's reading (alive versus mechanical, and where the boundary goes). That page should be read against this one.
