Valentina Borremans

Founder and director of CIDOC in Cuernavaca, Illich's co-author on the "ceilings for industrial growth" analysis that became Tools for Conviviality, and compiler of a 1979 Guide to Convivial Tools. She ran CIDOC as "the inverse of a university" and closed it herself in 1976 rather than let it become an institution.
